Open Daily: 9am - 5pm
Dear Valued Customers:
As many of you have already learned, there has been an unbelievable demand for our vegetable plants, herbs, annuals and hanging baskets. We are working on growing more and our suppliers are trying to provide us with whatever they can. Unfortunately there are many vegetable plants that are now unavailable. We continue to receive deliveries one to twice a week of vegetable, herbs and annual flats that are available and are taking perennial, tree and shrub deliveries on a regular basis as well.
As you may know, we grow most of our 4 1/2” annuals (found in house #3) and pretty much all of our hanging baskets in house, starting as early as January. In fact, we increased the number of hanging baskets we grew this year. But the unprecedented demand has caused our supply to dwindle. While it may not be possible for us to replace exactly what we usually have to offer, we are working on growing more hanging baskets and annuals, as well as planters. We anticipate our first batch will be ready for sale in the next few weeks and then the next round ready the beginning to middle of July. We also are growing some herbs, such as basil and parsley, and will have a limited supply of these all summer long. In the interim, we are bringing in some combination hanging baskets and straight color petunia hanging baskets from suppliers, as they become available. We continue to receive weekly deliveries of various annuals such as rieger begonias, sun patients, impatients, callalillies, etc and will continue to do so as long as they are available. We have a good supply of 10” hanging basket ferns at this time.
No one could have predicted this high demand and now shortage of vegetable plants, herbs and annuals, as well as supplies, such as potting soil and mulch. We expect to have more potting soil, mulch, garden soil etc. this coming week.
Now that summer is here, we encourage you to consider perennials, trees and shrubs. We have a great selection and are bringing in more periodically. We have something for everyone and are happy to assist you in picking out some that are right for your landscape….and they will come back every year. For most, you simply need to clean out the beds in the spring, fertilize and mulch, as needed, and sit back and enjoy the beauty. We have partnered with a local landscaper for the larger jobs who will come to your home and assist you with your landscape design. If you don’t see a perennial, tree or shrub that you are looking for please ask, as we may be able to special order it for you.
We are open every day 9AM – 5PM. To maintain a safe environment for you and our employees be sure to bring your face mask/covering with you to wear when you are not able to maintain a 6 foot distance between yourselves and others (unless you are unable to wear the mask/covering due to health reasons). If you notice someone not maintaining the 6 foot distance without a mask/covering please bring it to our attention and we will address it. We have extra face masks/coverings should you forget yours.
We are still taking phone, email and facebook orders for curbside service and local home & cemetery delivery. Please be sure to follow up with us if you do hear back from us on orders, as we have had a large response to this service and are trying to fill the orders as quickly as possible. You can call us at 845-471-5956, email us or reach out to us on facebook for information and to place orders. We will gladly send pictures to you as requested. If you would like to shop when we are less crowded, please contact us to schedule an appointment and we encourage you to do so as we have been overwhelmed with the curbside orders.
As we have every year, we will have a sampling of our plants in the parking, but encourage you to walk through our yard and greenhouses. We will also bring plants out to you in the parking lot upon request and if you prefer not to go into the main greenhouse to check out, let us know and we will accommodate you.
Everyone stay safe and healthy!
Pat & Chris Guido
